 The Art Of Garden Design

Artist-in-Residence John Bradley will be present, helping the T.C. Steele State Historic Site celebrate the art of garden design. Check out a new addition to the gardens that Bradley designed as a part of his residency.

Bradley will also hold a public demonstration at the site�s Festival of Flowers Paint Out. And he is offering a workshop called Painting Nature: Watercolor and the Creative Process. Learn more about John Christopher Bradley here.

The Watercolor Society of Indiana presents the 31st annual juried exhibition of paintings featuring works in a variety of styles. The Society is made up of more than 300 artist, student, and patron members statewide who produce high-quality watercolor paintings and seek to educate the public about the beautiful transparent medium. Pat Dews, AWS, NWS will select the paintings and awards for the exhibit which will hang in the North Hall Gallery.

Painting Nature Watercolor And The Creative Process

Painting Nature:
Watercolor and the Creative Process Get inspired by Brown County’s beautiful landscape and brush up on your watercolor skills!
Join Artist-in-Residence John Bradley for an all-day watercolor workshop May 20 on the grounds at T.C. Steele State Historic Site. Bradley will instruct beginning through intermediate artists to explore methods of watercolor layout, paper preparation, underpainting, graded washes, dry brush effects, brush strokes, lifting and applying mask. Participants will work from still life or plein air landscapes.
The class, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be outside by Selma’s garden under a large tent. The workshop costs $40.
The class is limited to 15. Participants should bring a sack lunch for an hour lunch break around noon. Bradley will be at the site May 10 through 22. Bradley, an Indianapolis artist, combines his talent with his green thumb. He worked as a foreman at the Indianapolis...
